The stone inscription commemorates the passage of soldiers, prisoners and partisans - after September 8, 1943 - you passed through to rejoin the Allied Army earmarked over the mountain.
Textually it is written: "A STAR ON MAJELLA - So Radio London announced coded their regained freedom by fugitives and Italian young prisoners, including Lieutenant Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, who sided with the allied army. For this path crossing the ford of Coccia reached the liberated lands".
